Doraemon Baby Romper Suit

Best baby costume EVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Would love to get these for my children next time!!

Source: Japan Pulse

Bandai have just announced the release of a new range of cosplay baby romper suits featuring characters from tokusatsu and anime series such as Kamen Rider, Doraemon, Ultraman and Dragon Ball. The rompers come hot on the heels of a similar range of hoods and bibs released last summer and are extremely affordable at only Β₯1,575 each. The characters chosen are designed to appeal to an older generation who remember these classic series with fondness and want to transform their tots into Super Sentai.

Given the popularity of cosplay in Japan, it’s not surprising that parents would want their kids to get in on the action. Take these Naruto babies and Death Note toddlers, for example. As well as anime, video game characters costumes are also a source of inspiration. Foreign fans of Japanese video games have handmade some awesome baby costumes such as this knitted Katamari Damacy suit or this Link baby costume for lovers of Zelda.

Naturally, many parents turn to the classics – Disney costumes and cute bear hoods – when dressing up their tikes, but what about those looking for slightly hipper threads? Hip hop gear is definitely on trend at Baboo Wear’s online shop, where parents can stock up on kid-size baseball caps and New Skool romper suits with a motif that makes your kid look like it owns a fat pair of headphones.

The Bandai romper suits hit the stores later this month. Baby henshin

Doraemon’s Funeral

If you had read the spoof version of Doreamon’s finale, Doraemon didn’t actually died. However, in Thailand, Doraemon actually died and a lady had a funeral for her. WTF

Doraemon Doll Laid to Rest in Elaborate Funeral

A Doraemon doll was laid to rest today in an elaborate Thai Buddhist funeral ceremony that spared no expense and cost the owner of the plush toy 200,000 baht (about $6000 US). Plubplueng Ngamchareon, a 48 year old Thai woman received the Doraemon doll from a Buddhist monk when she was in the hospital being treated for cancer three years ago. After her recovery she began to have dreams where the Doraemon doll would appear to her and give her advice and sometimes lottery numbers. She attributed her recovery, health, good fortune in business and occasional lottery winnings to her Doraemon doll; which she had come to think of as her own child. The doll even went to school! The woman hired someone to bring the doll to school every day where it had its own locker. (Whether or not the doll received good grades is unclear at this time.) In October of 2009, the Doraemon doll visited her dreams once again to say goodbye and told the woman that he was dead. The doll instructed the woman to prepare his funeral. As is tradition, the ‘body’ was laid to rest at the temple for 100 days and the funeral culminated in today’s cremation ceremony which was attended by a hundred people, including his kindergarten classmates.

I thought having Doraemon painted on a car is a little bit overboard.

Doraemon for my Crocs shoes!

I bought these Doraemon Jibbitz from Parkson, 1 Utama at rm8.90 per piece!!!

If you have heard about the Jibbitz’s story, you should read Rich and Sheri Schmelzer’s story about how they created this item from their home and subsequently acquired by Crocs for US20 million. One of the Schemelzer’s kids was at a local pool when one of the founders of Cros spotted the Jibbitz. He gave the kid his card and the rest was history.

The Schemelzer ensured that they filed patents and design patents (in Malaysia, it is called an industrial design) to protect their invention before releasing it. You can read their patent and design patent specification below:

Patent: System and method for securing accessories to clothing
Patent: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SECURING ACCESSORIES TO WEARABLE ITEMS
Design patent: Shoe accessory.

Clear example how IP protection raked millions. If they didn’t file a patent, Crocs could have just copied the idea without paying a single royalty.

Unfortunately, many people are put off with the cost of filing a patent. The initial stage for filing a patent in Malaysia could costs RM5000 – RM10,000. Nevertheless, one can always find someone to finance it e.g. a venture capitalist.

This bring me to the question on how we could apply such business principle into the legal profession. How was a lawyer ride on another successful business to attain a certain level of success. Let me put on my thinking cap…

Google celebrated Doraemon’s birthday

Ah! I forgot about Doraemon’s birthday! It was on the 3rd of September. Google.co.jp celebrated Doraemon’s birthday by having its logo dedicated to Doraemon on the 3rd of September 2009 – even though he won’t be “born” for another 103 years.

Google.co.jp website updated its logo on Thursday to mark the birthday of the robot cat Doraemon β€” even though he won’t be “born” for another 103 years. According to the background story of the manga, Doraemon was built at the Matsushiba robot factory in Tokyo on September 3, 2112. The occasion is celebrated each year with Doraemon character goods and the broadcast of Doraemon anime specials. The Fujiko F. Fujio Museum, the institution being built in honor of the manga’s co-creator Hiroshi Fujimoto, is set to open on September 3, 2011 β€” essentially, the -101st birthday of Doraemon.

Two of the letters in Google.co.jp’s special Doraemon logo feature the robot cat’s signature “take-copter.” The official website of Doraemon, dora-world.com, is also celebrating his birthday. On April 7, 2008, Google.co.jp celebrated the birthday of another famous science-fiction robot, Astro Boy (Mighty Atom). According to Osamu Tezuka’s original manga, Astro Boy celebrated his 5th birthday last year.
