Taiwanese Sausage @ Ming Tien, Taman Megah

There’s a stall in Ming Tien Taman Megah which sells Taiwanese sausages. One should try their Spicy sausage. It is super duper spicy.

Since Gavin is back from Australia for a short holiday, we bought him a piece of spicy sausage for him.

Big it up for GavinTan! *clap clap clap* *standing ovation*

Wall’s Mini Hazelnut

I craved ice-cream, but am on a diet.

I bought Wall’s Mini Hazelnut because it’s:

a) affordable
b) maybe i would be able to control my consumption by eating just that small piece
c) and still satisfy my craving for ice-cream.
However, to my dismay:-

i) IT’S SMALL!!!!
ii) I AM NOT A KID. one piece of that isn’t enough for me!
iii) i did not like the taste.

F*CK! I should have just bought a Magnum instead if I didn’t want to stick to my diet.

Pork Meat in Malaysian Cuisines

For years I didn’t realise that our fast food lack in one common ingredient, pork. The reason is very obvious. The majority of Malaysians are Muslims and as such, they do not include pork in their menu.
I also didn’t realise that this extends to locally produced instant noodles until recently, a friend came back from China bringing back few packets of Pork Instant Noodles.
Introducing Pork Ribs Instant Noodles!

The thought of eating pork ribs noodles is definitely foodgasmic!
The noodles’ texture looks perfect, the pork ribs look juicy and THE TASTE OF IT…sorry havent tried it yet.

Muar – Chicken Rice Ball & Otak-otak

Chicken Rice Bollocks

Other than Melaka’s chicken rice ball, Muar’s chicken rice ball is excellent as well. Whenever I attend court in Muar, I would drop by this particular chicken rice ball shop in Muar town. It’s just a street away from the Store Departmental Store.

The shop (It’s in the middle of a row of shops) Email me if you need directions.

KFC’s Cheesy BBQ Meltz

KFC-meltz.jpg

Have you tried it yet? It’s RM5.50 on its own.

Cheesy BBQ Meltz is toasted tortilla bread filled with melted Mozzarella cheese, crushed BBQ nacho chips, tomatoes and mayonnaise. One of the reasons why I tried it was not because of the advertisement (“eh, why did you switch of the lights, sir?”) but because I was desperately hungry and the only convenient place to stop was KFC’s Drive Thru, and I didn’t know what to eat.

Looking at it, it reminded me of roti canai. roti canai also thicker and cheaper la!

It’s just another version of the Bandito Pockett which was introduced a few years back. Except that the chicken was diced (nope, for a moment I thought it was KFC Popcorn Chicken).

I would say that it’s just OK, and not recommended if:

(1) you’re used to eating the 3-piece meal set because this is for small tummies only; and
(2) if you’re on your first or second date and you’re still shy around the potential candidate because it’s really messy. I felt like a slob when all the nacho chips kept falling out. doesn’t make eating graceful.

IT NEEDS MORE MAYO, CHEESE AND SOME GREENS, KFC! you listening? reading, i mean. ;P

bimbobum’s rating: 5.5/10 not filling enough, 7/10 for taste.
Interesting facts:

(1) KFC Holdings’s budget for promotion and advertising of this product is RM4 million.
(2) Malaysia is the
first country outside US to have launched this product. ooooh… malaysia boleh?
Promotional period is for 2 months only – ending around early September.

So go and try. (But i think the Zinger burger is more worth it. ;P)
Another review here.

fOOoOooood

lately, i’ve been busy eating and eating like there’s no tomorrow, and it’s no wonder my belly can rival xes’ beer belly. ;P
i have to admit, i am not that adventurous when it comes to food.
1. Puttu – indian steamed rice cake @ somewhere in Bangsar

when my friend and i first saw the waiter “cooking” it, we thought it’d be good to try. when i first heard the waiter mention “puttu”, i thought he meant “puttumayam”. so when it came looking like that, i stared at it, not daring to mention to my friend that it looked weird.
puttu is usually white in colour, but this one was steamed with sweet palm toddy syrup mixed in its ‘batter’ already. served with a garnish of grated coconut, i tried to drown it with brown sugar (mixed with grated coconut and whatnots).

Pork Bone Tea anyone?

You see, i come from a very health concious family. Hence, my parents especially has always being keeping track of our diet. However, i think we should sometimes spoil it for some enjoyment. Afterall, we live to eat and not eat to live right? Thus, i decide to pamper myself a lil with my all-time favourite chinese delicacy, (yep, to me that is. that’s how a big deal it is to me). THE BAH KUT TEH (pork bone tea?)
So there it is, my lunch today. Shall anticipate till the next round *saliva drooling already*
they gave me all da yat chi kuat for my pai kuat too. lovely peoples
I finished everything on my own. too bad i was too full and HOT after i’m done with my lunch. As a result, i forgotten to snap another photo.
