» Daytime
We went for 2 strip shows at Casa Rosso. The first one was pretty boring, a middle-aged couple screwing on the stage and a skinny teenybopper Asian teenage stripping. *euw* The only interesting part or i might say hilarious, is one of the performance by an audience. He was invited by the middle-aged lady to perform with her. When he got up on the stage, he swayed his ass on the stage and start making faces when the lady was touching him.

The second strip show was just too boring. I feel asleep halfway. *yawn*

» Evening
We went for a boat ride in the Canals around Amsterdam. Nothing interesting except for couple of sceneries but not even the famous Windmills and Anne Frank’s home. Here’s some fact i picked up from the information the boat captain gave.

– Due to the shortage of land, people have to live in boathouses (but of course there are those who choose to do so)
– Legal boathouses are provided with electricity and water supply.
– Illegal ones aren’t
– There is about 100km of canals and more than 100 bridges.

» Night time
We were pretty much exhausted from the daytime activities. Most of us choose to sleep.

me & khaifei @ one of the sex shops

Carl, Juleun and I decided to walk around the Red Light District. One word of advice, don’t ever try to walk there alone, it’s dodgy. We went for couple of peep shows. It cost about 2 euro for 2 minutes. There’s couple of rooms surrounding a rotating stage with a girl doing sexually explicit acts on the small stage. The main thing I don’t like about the place is that there’s cum stain everywhere!!

» Day time – The wedding of Prince William and Princess Maxima
Coincidentally, our trip was in conjunction with the wedding of the Prince of Holland. There was a parade on the streets. Coincidentally again, our hotel room is facing the parade and thus we were able to see the parade on the streets. There were military personals marching, music bands and military personals on the horses parading the streets. The whole town was filled with joyful and merry people. There were some people giving out orange banners and some orange stuff. It seems that the Dutch loves orange. Anyway, the wedding ceremony was in a church in Dam Square and shown live on tv. We took couple of pictures of the ceremony.

» Night time – Clubbing at Amsterdam!
We went clubbing at the so-called best club in Amsterdam called Escape. The place opens at 30 minutes past eleven. The cover charge is about 15 euros and as usual you are screened before entering the club (walking through metal detector and stuff). One thing I like about the club is it’s multicultural compared to the clubs in Sheffield which is mainly British locals. In Escape, you’ll see plenty of Asians and other races from around the world. Well, conclusion, the atmosphere of the club, the crowd is great the music is fine!

Amsterdam – the city of sin: Day 1

We arrive at Amsterdam late in the evening. Everything was fine and we were pretty excited.

“Tiu” means ‘f*ck’ in Cantonese

As we were walking, there was one guy who offered to find hotel for us approached us. He took us around couple of hotels until we settled down at this hotel called Hotel Centre. It cost about 25 per night. It’s a pretty reasonable price. We put our stuff immediately and went to a coffee shop.

Good Bye Sheffield

  • I’ll be leaving for Malaysia in 8 ½ hours.
  • I just got back from Ranmoor hall. It seems like a tearful good bye for everyone although we going back for 3-4 weeks! Everyone was like hugging, have-a-save-journey shit bla bla. Jason Kwok is in Sheffield, he was in Ranmoor just now, and I had a can of Carling with him before I went back to Tapton, shesh, should have spend some time with him. I spend most of the time in Ranmoor in Wen Dee’s room, we were chatting and chatting. I felt so guilty cause I didn’t like spend any time with the others. shesh man.
  • I putted all my stuff in Khai Fei‘s place. Everyone helped me to shift my stuff there. weee! My room feels so empty now. I felt like I’m leaving this place forever.
  • Khai Fei gave me a Christmas present! Yeah! Michelle, Frederick and Sam each gave me a Christmas card. I felt so guilty for not giving them anything..grrr
  • Trip to Leeds

  • I just got back from Leeds. MASSOC had another trip down there. It was a shopping and dinner trip. I bought a sweater from GAP 🙂 and a box of English tea for my mum.
  • I had to wake up at 6AM this morning and I slept at 4AM! I’m so tired! Leeds is only an hour from Sheffield. We took a bus down there. Basically, I didn’t shop much there and I spend most of my time walking around with my friends and took couple of pictures. Leeds‘ shopping area is much bigger than Sheffield and in fact Leeds has more branded shops than Sheffield, for example fcuk and Morgan. One thing I notice about Leeds is a lot of music playing around. They have people playing instruments in the streets. There was this group of people holding all kinds of drums and started playing them and it was pretty good!
  • Janet introduced one of her friends, Stanley to us today and he’s doing medical law 2nd year, pretty nice guy. We hung out together the whole day. Oh yeah, Ian, Gwin and Nakata came to Leeds too. He drove down all the way down from Sheffield! It was pretty cold at night and Gwin was only wearing a thin layer of clothing. I had to borrow him one of my jackets. It seems that it was too small for him and he was struggling in it!
  • Last Criminal Law Lecture

  • It’s the last criminal lecture. I guess it’s the last time I’ll see Michael Jefferson (yes, he wrote a criminal law text book) teaching me criminal law. As soon as he finishes his last sentence of the lecture, all of us clapped. awww, it seems so poignant
  • It is also the last meeting for our web page team this year. Almost everything is done, the website might be launched next Monday!
  • Lost my mug

    13 Dec 2001 1:34AM

  • I lost my mug today 🙁 I woke up for breakfast this morning. Went toilet, then went down to Alex‘s corridor to call him, then went to the dining hall, then went back to my room and sleep. I lost it somewhere in between!!
  • Eddie won the Presidential election for Tapton Junior Common Room Committee, I voted for him! However, Billy lost the election for international rep. I voted for him, grr.
  • Sam’s Birthday @ Mei

  • It’s Sam’s birthday today. We went dinner at Mei’s Chinese restaurant. The food is pretty good, I heard it’s one of the best in town. We had crispy duck, ginger chicken and couple of other stuff. *yummy* I had 3 bowls of rice plus the dinner I had back in the dining hall at Tapton. The dinner went quite well, there were 20 of us but we didn’t do anything after the dinner but went home instead.
  • Saving Private Ryan

  • I just came back from movies at the union. I watched Saving Private Ryan and it is damn good. Tom Hank‘s acting skill is superb. The show was about 9 guys assigned to Save Private Ryan in the battlefield of France during World War II. The show is quite graphical as you can see a lot of war scene, ie torn off body parts, rotten bodies, etc don’t watch it if you have a weak stomach!
  • I always thought of joining the army. hhmmm, I might consider joining it after I get my degree.
  • FOOTBALL IN WINTER

  • It’s Cindy‘s birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BITCH!
  • FOOTBALL IN WINTER: It’s not pleasant. Although it dries your sweat quickly, it’s freezing. I was at Astro Turf just now playing footie with couple of MASSOC members. There were about 28 guys divided into 4 teams. I was wearing only a t-shirt and track bottom and it’s 8°. Goosebumps were popping out on my hand and I feel damn numb, I couldn’t even tie my shoelace! Anyway, it was a good game. My team drew a match and won one match. I was the defender for all the matches (we had 2 tiring games). Khai Fei scored a goal after successfully tricked me, shesh man!
  • After the football match, we went for Chinese food. It seems that the elderly lady I helped when she fainted couple of weeks ago works there. haha. She gave me the meal I order with some prawn crisps for free! Looks like my wish came true. I wished she were an owner of a Chinese restaurant so that I could have free Chinese food everyday!
