One day at the KL Bar Auditorium..

I attended one seminar conducted by the KL Bar on franchising, one of my practice areas. The fellow speaker, also an Intellectual Property practioner gave us some pointers and clarification on this topic. It was attended by many lawyers and the auditorium was filled with lawyers.

The sky looked as it was about to pour hence I brought my umbrella along. My umbrella was a gift from my firm, with my firm’s corporate colour and name imprinted on it.

After the talk, it was networking time. I spent some time meeting some new people and also get to know the people that I know better. By the time the seminar finished, it was pouring. Many people were stuck in the building. It was a blessing in disguise as those who stayed on were able to meet new people.
I hung out until the auditorium had to be closed. One of my colleagues retrieved my notes from the room, except for my umbrella. I went in to ask for it.

Me: Did anyone see my umbrella?
Lady: yeah, we put it outside.
(went outside)
Me: Did you see my umbrella?
Man: Yeah! I saw one umbrella but when I shouted whether for the owner, one lawyer came up to me and said it’s his umbrella!!
Me: /(*O*)\ !!!!

I can’t believe a fellow lawyer would steal from another lawyer and put his/her convenience at my expense!

The 3 Kittens

Early June this year, a stray cat came into my house and gave birth to 4 kittens. Instead of kicking them out from the house, we decided to rear them and give them food and shelter. We would pack our leftovers for the stray cat.

One day, the stray cat disappeared with its kittens. But few days later, she came back with 3 kittens. 1 kitten was missing was never to be found.

It’s been 5 months since we adopted the kittens. The 3 kittens have now grown into teenage cats. 😀

Businessweek – Bloggers Bring in the Big Bucks

Age is finally catching up..

Gone were the days where I though I could withstand any strenuous activities without feeling the aftermath.
Recently, I’ve been experiencing soreness on my waist. I suspect it’s due to long working hours without taking enough breaks in between. I went to see a doctor and he said that it may be due to an injury to my soft tissues. To remedy it, he subscribed me with painkillers. I don’t think this would solve the problem as it merely takes away the pain.
As I wasn’t convince with the doctor’s method, I went to see a chiropractioner. I had to take half day leave to see the chiropractioner. The chiropractioner is located in one shopping centre. Nicely designed and seems very cosy.
I was brought to a small room with a funny shaped bed. Within minutes, the chiropractioner greeted me with a smile.
Chiropractioner: Your first time?
Me: Yes, first time.
Chiropractioner: ok Let me explain how your backbone works…
After explaining the above, he started feeling my backbone and asked loads of questions. The chiropractioner suspects that the soreness on my waist was due to a couple of misaligned disc on my spine. He recommended that I do a x-ray to confirm his analysis and then see him again. My 10 minutes consultation with him lasted less than 10 minutes and it costs me RM100. GG
I’m not very convinced that the chiropractioner could really solve my problem. Further, I’m a little bit worried that he’ll mess up my spine!
Anyone has better ideas?

Upin dan Ipin – Malaysian Animation

I recently watched this excellent Malaysian animation ‘Upin dan Ipin’ on Youtube. The recent series of this animation is about twin brothers Upin and Ipin and his gang going through the Muslim fasting month.
The Upin and Ipin series around 5 minutes and there are only 6 episodes which are shown every Friday, Saturday and Sunday on TV9 (Malaysia) throughout Ramadan in 2007.
Not bad for a Malaysian made animation. Check it out!

First Visit to Tony Roma’s @ Cineleisure

After reading so many great reviews (here, here and here), I finally had the chance to try it out with a friend. A friend.

Now you see, with just one friend, the chance to try out more dishes is close to nil. How much can two tiny, dainty lil girls eat?

So we ordered the Chicken Club Salad @ RM24.90. Which was huge.

When the waiter brought it to us, our eyes widened with shock. “How many people is this for?” my friend asked.

“For 3-4 persons to share! Hope you can finish it!” he answered cheerfully.

We tried.
 But we couldn’t.

We also ordered the something something Thai Chicken Wings or so at RM17.90.

xes-tonyromas-2.jpgWhich was good. After a while, it tasted a bit too sweet. Peppered with sesame seed and Thai chilli sauce for dip! It was lovely when hot. Yummy!

The queue can be rather crazy for weekend dinners!

Not too bad, I guess, but I don’t think I’d eat here so frequent!

p.s. Forgive the quality of pictures, I didn’t bring my camera so my friend had to do the honour of snapping pictures.
