Furry Corsten @ Zouk 23.12.2005

It’s been a while since I went to clubbing. But since the Miri boys, Chanok and Rin were in town, I decided to bring them to Zouk for Ferry Corsten’s set although I was down with food poisoning. I felt like I was having period during the entire night.

Many thanks to Sharon for bringing us in. If it was not for her, we would have to fork out RM50 per person. Unfortunately, for Amos and girlfriend Kimmy who came late, they had to fork out RM100 for entry.

Hairy Corsten’s set was just so-so. I’m not a big fan of trance and further I was a little bit disappointed with his set as he didn’t play his hard stuff. I love his music on his Hard NRG series. But then, I heard that his set got harder towards the end. I wonder how true is this.
Despite the mellow music, I got to meet up with some old friends. 😀

Unexpectedly, Johnson, Mary, Gobi, GBH, Hong Sing, Rita and the rest of the gang were there. It’s been a while since I saw them. I though those guys have retired.

By 2AM, we were already out of the club. I had to get a drink due to dehydration, god damn food poisoning. Chanok and Rin had enough by then as well. We ended the night at Steven’s Corner.

Balcony presents “Max Factor” @ Miri, Sarawak

First and foremost, I must thank Mr. Ma, one of the owners of Balcony, for the sponsoring us to Miri. Mr. Ma sponsored our air tickets, lodging and food!

I must also thank Kian and Shan Mei for bringing us around. Further, thank you Joanna, Rin, Hence (don’t know whether I got his name correct), Darren, Kynan and puhyah for their great hospitality. Also a big shout out to those people I met in Miri!

Balcony is one of the great clubs in Miri. It’s not the typical fengtau clubs. Mr. Ma has put a lot of effort trying to improve Balcony club to be on par with clubs in Kuala Lumpur. Their music ranges from Progressive House to Trance. Unfortunately, no Hard House for me.

Balcony has a few private rooms where patrons are able to sing their hearts out using their karaoke machines. Joanna booked a room and gathered her group of friends to celebrate her birthday. As expected, the birthday girl was drunk and couldn’t remember a lot of things. She even missed the best part, where the entire club sang Happy Birthday to her!

Balcony also has a great range of liquor as well. They even have Hoegaarden!!

Rin was the hustler of the night. Every 5 minutes he would come to me and say, “Let’s get some drinks mannnnn”. Rather than shuffling on the dance floor, Rin and I were drowning ourselves with alcohol. Darren, Rin and I shared a B-52 and then followed up with Hoegaarden. There goes my night, half drunk and half tired.

Amos, Jordan and Ryan were the performing shufflers from KL. Those superstars were surrounded by Mirians. They were also joined by a few Mirian Shufflers.

I, on the other hand, was busy taking pictures. I don’t know how to shuffle 😀

They had a mini shuffling competition between Mirians, the winners were chosen by the clap-o-meter (or cheer-o-meter). The first round was won by a guy, beating 2 others which include a girl who shuffled with high heels. The second round was won by Joanna, beating few good shufflers. She said, “Bloody hell, I won cause it’s my birthday!!”. They both won a bottle of Dewars each.

FINALLY!! AN OUTDOOR EVENT!!

Many Outdoor events in Malaysia have been cancelled this year. On the last NYE, the rave @ KL Tower had to change its venue because the government cancelled all outdoor events as a mark of respect to the victims of 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami.

Then the Renault F1 Party featuring Yoji Biomehanika & the 1 Million Ringgit Atmospherique rave @ Mines had to be postponed due to the death of the wife of our Prime Minister.

My friends organized 3 different events for my bday day.

1st was lunch @ Hideki Japanese Restaurant @ One Bangsar. Pictures can be seen @ Sui Lin’s website @ http://www.suilin.com/archives/00000233.htm

2nd was crabbing session with high school friends. It was a joint celebration with Kiang who celebrated his birthday on the 17th of September. Pictures will be posted later.

3rd was Cristo’s, one of the pubs around Hartamas. I had my birthday there last year where I ended up lying drunk on the street. This time round, only 50% of the bombing participants from last year came. The absentees were either sick, busy or not in town.

However, this time round, my high school friends, Him and his girlfriend, Kiang, Ping, Tay, Jin Han and lasy year’s participants, Sui Lin, Sam, Sow and Cris came. It was also a joint birthday thingie with Kiang.

Going to Cristo’s was my own suggestion actually although I had a choice to go to Hardsequance at Glow. It was a suicidal move to go to Cristo. BUT!! I had a plan!!

I had quite a number of beers and a shot of ~~salmonella (no idea how you spell it)~~ sambuca courtesy of Him.
Me: Who bought me this crap?? (pointing @ the shot of ~~salmonella~~ sambuca)
Him: Don’t know ooh…
Me: WAITER PLEASE GIVE ME ANOTHER SHOT OF THIS FOR THAT GUY OVER THERE!!

That was one of my strategies of the night. Whoever who buys me a drink will get one in return. This would instil fear on them!

Of course, this strategy has its weaknesses. Imagine if everyone buys me a shot in return, I’ll be sleeping the hospital morgue the next day.

My plan has also been long planned. One of the plans were to make agreements with other people who asked for favours or who were having their birthdays. For example, Cris and Sow whom I promised not to bomb them on their birthdays had to promise in return, they must not bomb me.

However, the beers almost killed me. I hardly remember what happened 5 seconds ago!

uuhhh..what happened..

Someone bought me a shot of tequila. Mixing alcohol would no doubt kill me hence I came up with another plan. It was a 50/50 chance, all I had to do is play a game with someone, loser drinks.
Tay was my victim. I managed to coax him into playing ‘chai wui’, a sort of drinking game which involves 2 parties where one would come up with certain hands movements and the other one would have to parry them.

First Round: He lost. He drank a sip of beer.
Second Round: I lost. I drank sip of beer.
Then it came to the tequila.
Me: SAP MM!! HOI SAI!!!
Tay: O_O!!!!!
Everyone: BWAHAHAHAHAHA
He lost! He had to drink my tequila. WOOHOO!!
Tay: WAITER!! GIVE ME ANOTHER SHOT OF TEQUILA !!
Me: O_O!!!!!!!
2nd round came.
Tay: TUI TUI!!
Me: Wahhhh…luckily… SAP!! SAP MM!!
(then proceeds to point to the tequila)
Me: YAM AHh!!! (DRINK AH!!)
Tay: ARGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Everyone: O_O!!!!
He lost!!! Wooohooo!!!

I left the Cristo’s drunk but still standing. Thank you all for coming. Thank you for not buying me a flaming Lamborghini or a Graveyard or even Around the World. I couldn’t have coaxed anyone to drink that for me!
