Silom @ Bukit Damansara, KL

The bright neon lights attracted my attention.
From the outside, the decor looked funky.
A sign outside said “Thai Restaurant & Bar”.
Hmm. Interesting.

The bar and open seating area.
You can tell that I had an early dinner as it was still bright outside. ;P

Upon being seated in our booth meant for 5, our server lit the tealights after giving us the menu.
I couldn’t help but enjoy the cosiness and the lovely drapes. Curtains. Whatever. ;P

The appetiser(s).
The kerabu mangga was good. The pie-T kind of crumbled in my hand, it was really fragile. I picked up one and it crumble – gotta put everything into my mouth. [RM8 for 4]

The main dishes.
I couldn’t tell what was fancy about ‘pineapple fried chicken’, it was more like sweet & sour chicken. (In UK’s chinatown their sweet & sour dishes was always full of onion, cucumber, capsicum and pineapple.) The tom yam soup was alright, though I don’t really fancy tom yam soup, but my date friend wanted it. He was into spicy food! And me and brinjal… ;P
Overall, I’d say that the food was just OK. It was slightly a bit more expensive, compared to Gin Ger. The dessert menu was rather limited, just cendol, ice kacang, ice cream, fruit platter, etc. So we had coffee to polish off dinner instead.
It set us back about RM90. Yikes.
I’d give it 4/5 for ambience. It was quiet and definitely a good place to chat to catch up with friends. Unless it was because I was there on a weeknight. ;P
Where: along the same row as Red Ginger, Flamenco, Deutsche Bierhaus, but way down the end next to the Southern Bank Berhad building.
Recommends: The kerabu mango, if you don’t mind it a bit coconut-y. But bear in mind I didn’t check out the alcoholic beverages!
note: the booth fits a max of only 6 persons.
