RM200

RM200 can buy me shitloads of things.
RM200 can buy me couple of nice tshirts.
RM200 can buy me beer whole night long.
RM200 may save a person’s eyesight.
I contributed RM200 to Yvonne Foong’s Neurofibromatosis (NF) Fund in order assist her in saving her eyesight. Yvonne Foong had a normal childhood and grew up like most of us. But when she reached 13 years old, she began to lose her hearing. She then lost the use of both her legs and her bodily functions kept failing.

She discovered that she had tumours in her brain and along the spinal cord. Many of these tumours were removed but one tumour seems to be affecting her eyesight. If treatment is not given, she may go blind.
Her father is unfit to work after a brain haemorrhage more than ten years ago and her mother’s job is just enough to get them by.
By March 2009, she has to raise RM90,000. It’s February now and the funds she have is RM15,000.
To those who wishes to contribute, you may either purchase her Heart4Hope t-shirt (or cap) or transfer funds to her. I did mine via Maybank Online, which is quite simple. For other methods, please check out Yvonne Foong’s website.

I bought myself a nice black Heart4Hope t-shirt.
I hope everyone can put aside their a week’s worth of their beer money aside to help out a person in need.

Belai si Comel Bersama Purina

The recent news about the cruel against animals at the DBKL Animal pound didn’t surprise me one bit. If you didn’t know, please refer to the extract from an article taken from here.

Members of the public are crying foul over the way stray dogs and cats are allegedly killed at the the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) animal pound in Setapak.

This is in reaction to the visuals shown over a TV3 programme 360° on Wednesday night.

The visuals which were captured with a hidden camera showed a pound worker dragging a dying dog with a loop around its neck.

To make matters worse, the “execution” was watched by another terrified dog waiting in line for its turn to be killed.
In the programme two people, who had brought the matter to the attention of the television station, said the dogs’ necks were fractured and cats were drowned or clobbered to death at the pound.

Poor animals. But this somehow reminds me of a story where a cat exploded after it was put into a microwave.

Few weekends back, A and I went over to Giant Supermarket at Shah Alam to check out the audition of the newest reality TV show – Malaysia’s first reality TV show about cats! 6 contestants will be chosen over a series of auditions. They are then require to adopt a cat and take care of them. The cat owners will be tested on various topics on cat care each week and the best cat owner will be rewarded with RM10,000!

When we were there there were 4 cats in a cage up for adoption. Passersby circled the cats and poked them non stop.

I believe the animals were brought in by SPCA. SPCA had also set up a booth to raise funds. I bought myself a nice tshirt from there. Screw Topshit and Espshit when I can buy cheap and nice tshirts and do charity.

There were a number of people auditioning for the show as well and some did really when. I’m quite amused how people can talk for few minutes to answer, “Mengapa anda suka kucing? (why do you like cats?). The only thing I could think of now is, “Saya suka menumbuk mereka (I like to punch them). wahhahahah

“Mengapa saya suka kucing?..Ahh..sebab saya suka makan kucing, dagingnya sedapppp..kalau goreng rangup macam ayam KFC! ”

Another audition was held in Giant, Kota Damansara the week thereafter. Cats were displayed for adoption again. But this time round, they gave a name to the cats..

One family came all the way from Melaka for the audition – with their cats and also with a Mickey Mouse hat…

Tim gai ngo chung yi mau ar?? Yam mai ngo chung yi sik mau, mau yuk hou hou mei arrrr… char mau yuk hou chi KFC gam hou mei!! mou tak ting!! hou mei tou emm chi yang yong!!!

This first ever cat reality show in Malaysia based on cat adoption will be aired on TV3 from 21st Mac – 9th May 2009, every Saturday, 12.30pm-1pm!

Love Knows No Boundaries

Happy Valentine’s Day everybody!

I hope your wallet didn’t bleed by the end of this day! Valentine’s Day is a real cut throat day. Bloody businessmen are squeezing as much as they can from the public.

But for 37-year old Muhammad Noor and wife, 106-year old Wok, every day is Valentine’s Day

KUALA TERENGGANU: When Muhammad Noor Che Musa and Wok Kundor tied the knot just over three years ago, nobody gave their marriage much of a chance to survive.

After all, he had just turned 34 and the bride was 103.

Now, three years on, the couple who reside in Kampung Tok Bak near here have surprised many by staying happily married and proving that love will conquer all, if given a chance.

Noor, from Tanah Merah, said almost every family member, friend and neighbour had once dismissed his decision to marry Wok as a desperate attempt for companionship.

“In the beginning, we were the talk of the town, if not the whole state and country. We ended up in the news a few times.

“But now, most of the people I care about, especially my family and close friends, have accepted Wok as my life partner. Most of our neighbours have also accepted that this marriage is for the long-haul,” he said yesterday.

To all the single guys out there, here’s my dedication to you!

Have a great Valentine’s Day!

Castrol EDGE Sport Speed Challenge

Castrol is having an online contest for bloggers and its readers to promote its latest product, the Castrol EDGE Sport 0W-40, a fully synthetic race-proven engine oil. Before I go on with the details of the contest, perhaps it would be useful to talk about the product itself.
A synthetic engine oil is a type of engine oil. The oil used in your car has two primary ingredients: base oil and additives. The base oil allows the motor oil to perform its vital function – lubricating the engine’s moving parts to protect them against wear and tear caused by friction. The additives provide additional engine protection by helping to prevent the oil from deteriorating under the engine’s extreme temperature conditions.
Synthetic oils are manufactured specifically to stand up to the severe conditions under which conventional oils might falter.
Castrol EDGE range is Castrol’s best performance fully synthetic oil. It has been specifically engineered to meet and go beyond the toughest industry performance standards and specification across all the seven critical engine factors

It provides protection at maximum horsepower for a longer period, stabilises the temperature, protects moving parts against wear and tear, reduces burn-off and allows optimum engine performance between oil changes, performs exceedingly well in extreme hot and cold weather conditions, reduces emission of pollutants, and maintains high efficiency fuel economy.
It would be useful to check out the videos showing how Castrol EDGE oil was tested. It was put under extreme maximum power test, extreme heat test and also extreme cold test.

Extreme Maximum Power Test

Extreme Heat Test – check out how they burn the engine!

The overall closest guess for ALL 4 videos wins!

The first video has been published. Check out the Hot Chics video!

There will also be weekly prizes. Every week, the closest guess to the actual time wins one of our four weekly prizes, and will also be in the running for the Grand Prize.

Chinese New Year 2009

Chinese New Year had been pretty great save for recent passing of a good friend’s mother. Mel, if you’re reading this, don’t worry. We’re definitely here for you!
Other than that it was a little bit tiring. Just few days ago, WK, Umeng and his 2 brothers, KF, Kiang, SL and I were playing counterstrike at a cybercafé in Kuchai Lama until 6am. We did the same thing the night before. Our initial plan was to head to Genting Highlands for a day trip but when everyone gathered, it was already 12am hence too late.
When we got off from the cybercafé, I had a déjà vu feeling. It felt like I was back in high school again. We did the same thing when 12 to 15 years ago. Time flies.
Aussie boy, Umeng and SL are back from Australia for Chinese New Year. Wei Chen just came back as well.
Just last week, we had a birthday party for Ping and Umeng cum farewell for Jin Han and cum homecoming for the Aussie boys at Neway Karaoke. It was … havoc. Everyone was forcing each other to drink.

In the end of the night, some were knocked out and some were puking their guts out.

Further, I left my camera in the karaoke room and Kiang left his car keys there as well. I didn’t realize I lost it until the next day! Fortunately, Kiang, who went back to find his keys, found my camera and kept it for me.
The chaps at Neway Times Square were a great help as well. I initially lost all hope for my digital camera when I realize that I left it in Neway. However, when I called Neway, they took down my report and informed me that they will call me back if they find it. They called me back eventually and informed me that it’s not in their Lost and Found section. But the chap on the phone told me that he will go back to the room to search for it. I was quite impressed with their level of service. Couple of weeks back, a friend of mine dropped her wallet in front of a local airline company. When she made a report, the airline company located her wallet – with RM3000 missing.
Anyway, my high school friends and I will be making a trip down to Pulau Tioman. It’s going to be another drunken trip again. I hope that we will be sober enough to enjoy the entire trip. I also hope to climb there as I heard that Tioman has couple of climbing spots there.

BRB!

Look Alike – Part V

People say that there are 7 people out there who looks like you. Now I’ve found 2. Some of you may recall that I posted a picture of a singer by the name Edwin that looks like me [see here].

The newest person that looks like me (or I look like him) is also a singer. His name is Sam Hart.

His songs are good! The most popular song is probably his Mario Kart Love Song with 2 million hits! Even my Melbourne Shuffle Basic Video don’t have that many hits!

Notwithstanding that both Edwin and Sam are singers, I can’t sing for nuts. But maybe the 3 of us could start a band, Edwin and Sam can sing and I err…just sit around.

5 more twins to go!
