Ethic Lecture

Today, i attened Legal Ethic lectures with xes at the Bar Council. When i was attending our 2nd lecture of the day, i received a phone call from the Court’s chambering division. I was asked to see the Chief Clerk in charge of Chambering matter ASAP. Hence, i decided to sneak out for 10 mins since the court was just next to the Bar Council Building. I quitely walked out from the side door. I ran to the lift and pressed the button, suddenly…
“Where are you going!”
Shit, Ms. I, one of the Bar Council Staff in charge of the Ethic lecture.
Me: ummmm….(quick Frank,lie!).
Ms. I: Where are you going?
Me: I have to step over to see Mr. M for 10 mins! It’s urgent!
(Shit, why did i tell the truth. *slap forehead* I guess, the ethic lecture was working on me already).
Ms. I: No, you cannot AND you are not allow to go in the lecture theatre until the next lecture start.
Me: Only for 10 mins…can lar. It’s urgent…plz plz..plz
Ms. I: No! Also, you have to come back next month to attend this particular lecture again.
Me: Nooooooooooo….wait, the lecture is not ending in another 10 mins time. Let me in lar…i promise i will be a goodboy.
Ms. I: No!
Shit, Lady Luck was definately not on my side today.

Realisation and Gratefulness

Today, i realise that
1. I love working. I am actually a workoholic
2. That i am not a person with low confidence. I had this wrong preception on this due to the reason that people actually has very low or no confidence at all on me.
3. That i am always able to meet the wrong person to pull me out of whatever deep shit which i run into.
4. That i am a very blessed person because i am a very care free person.
Of all these, i thank Him for being there with me all these while because i believe “…if God is for us, who can be against us?” [Roman 8:13].
Anyway, here is the picture of the day :-

Singapore Day 2

Continued from Singapore 1 May 2005

The prostitutes were all gone. We could roam around Lorong 16 without being mistaken as pimp and prostitute.

Our first destination was Orchard Road. We walked around Orchard Road. The place’s no fun when you go no money to shop. But we ate a lot at Takashimaya.

Fishes at Orchard Street. It seems that most of the fishes in the Singapore’s fish definitives stamps are inside the tank.

We met up with Hiskandar (old Sheffield University mate) at the Orchard Road station. To those who know him, Hiskandar didn’t change at all. He was the same old Hiskandar that I met in Sheffield University. He’s now serving the police force as a probationary inspector.

He brought us around Singapore, first from City Hall and then to Singapore Merlion. Well, he brought us to the most interesting place ever, the Singapore PHILATELIC MUSEUM!!! w000t!!!!!

Some dude trying to pose in front of the museum.

The museum is located in a colonial building at City Hall. Other than a stamp gallery is has also a small shop selling stamps. And mmmm, Jane almost died of boredom. BUT not until we found a section that has traditional clothes for us to try! They even displayed an old bicycle that sell goat milk.

My ultimate dream..have my face in a stamp..

The clothes.

Jane and I decided to go Malay..

Mr Hiskandar trying to sell goat milk.

Further, they have an excellent Singapore stamp archive dating from Strait Settlements days to the current ones. They even have stamps from other countries. Unfortunately, they were not for sale.

Wah…..rape?

Dear blog,
Today, i went for my Legal Aid Clinic Duty. It was raining cats and dogs in the morning, hence nobody came in. I sat in the clinic for the whole morning, thinking about that night. I asked myself over and over again, why didn’t I save her that night? I could see it in her eyes that she wants help. I looked on the wall and saw a poster that said “RAPE – It is not your fault, you didn’t ask for it”. I hung my head down, looking at the table. I blamed myself for my cowardness. I could have easily save her last night,if only i can summon a wee bit of courage in me.
The picture of her being attacked by her assailants floated out of my mind.

But, i knew that i tried. I walked up to them but that bastards was fierce. All of them charged forward, the moment i opened the gate. I was scared, therefore i ran upstair and hide. I was scare of them…especially the black one.
Later, i told my friend about this.
me: Hey J, a bunch of bastards were gang rapping a bitch in front of
my house.
J : ….
me: I tried to help her lar but all the bastards charged forward so i
run lar.
J : How do u know she want your help?
me: Coz, she looks like she is in pain. She is not enjoying it.
J : How you know? Maybe she is moaning softly.
me: Ya hor!
That makes me feel so much better.

Numb

“I have nothing interesting to blog above.” This few words should or could be the taboo among the “seasoned” bloggers. Nevertheless, i seriously have nothing interesting to blog above lately. My mind is numb, numb from work. Too numb to even think above anything but strangely a little voice in my heart told me to go back to office and complete the unfinished work. Luckily the bigger voice up in brain shouted “FUCK U! I cannot go back to office NOW because i fucking don’t have the KEY!”
Anyway, here is the picture of the day :-

Some say she is so sexy, some think it’s disgusting…
For me, i find her funny.

Singapore – 1st May 2005

Japan’s Golden Week effectively started last week. 6 million Japanese travelled out from Japan, Jane was one of them.

Since flying to Malaysia from Tokyo is way more expensive than Singapore, Jane decided to land at Changi Airport. My schedule was perfect, i.e. get on to Air Asia’s (budget airline) 830PM flight and land in Senai Airport @ Johor, then take a bus to Singapore and then MRT directly to Changi Airport. That would save few hundred bucks.

But NOoooooooooOOooooooooooo Air Asia has to delay my flighttttttttttt…the bloody reason was that another of their flight got delayed. I arrived in Singapore in the middle of the night. Just as I thought that I’ll be able to make it to Changi Airport by train, my bloody MRT stopped at Ang Moh Kio, which is many station away from Changi Airport.

“Ladies and Gentleman, please leave the station as it will be closing now”, blared the speaker on Ang Moh Kio station.

Hence stranded in the middle of no where in Singapore, I wandered around till I saw a bus stop. A taxi arrived few minutes later and I lost SG20 to the taxi driver as taxi fare and surcharge. God damn Air Asia!!
Jane arrived about 1:30AM. We had Burger King for supper.
We got a relatively cheap hotel at Hotel 81 (one of the most successful hotel franchise in Singapore) Geylang. Our taxi driver said, “Lorong 16? Where are you guys from?”

“I’m from KL, She’s from Tokyo”.
“Ahh..icc..Lorong 16 is a dodgy place, you have to be careful”.

As soon as we arrived in Lorong 16, we were greeted by the sight of scantily dressed ladies with thick makeup and also a bunch of men of all ages. Jane immediately said, “What is this place???”.

There’s Geylang for you, the red light district of Singapore.

To be continued…

So HIGH……..

The site looks kinda empty. The number of visitors is less due to the long weekend. Everyone is either back in their home town or enjoying themself somewhere. Damn it…that makes me feel homesick. I wanted to go home too but…DAMN!!! I had to attend Legal Aid Training at the Bar Council on Friday (29/4/2005) and Saturday (30/4/2005). I am not willing spend RM300 ++ to fly home for only one day. Well…guess, i have to wait.
GUESS HOW MANY FLOORS DOES THIS SHOPPING MALL HAS :-
